Who are we??!
The growth of O'BON USA from conception to current day is a truly amazing story. We are a group of students, kids and young adults fighting to make this world a better place to live through creating and marketing intelligent, sustainable and educational products. Most of the O'BON USA team still goes to school today, earning units towards degrees in subjects such as Environmental Science, Green Business, Finance and Accounting, Graphic Design, Web Design and Marketing.
O'BON USA started in a college apartment right beside beautiful San Francisco State University and has grown much larger over it's 3 year existence thanks to the dedicated work of student employees and interns. This has been achieved through tireless social networking and grassroots efforts, a genuine interest and excitement in what we have to offer, a strong participation in natural and gift trade shows and events and an endless supply of charm, good humor and fun. Starting out, we had almost no business expertise at all but despite the challenge of having to learn so much as we went along, the experience has been nothing short of amazing.
Take this new website, for example, which embodies the marketing and creative vision of Kevin Davis, 22, Chief Information Officer and the user interface and design elements of Jimmy Phan, 24, Head Graphic/Web Designer. Together, they drew up a comprehensive strategy for creating an efficient and visually appealing website with a large number of features to convey the O'BON concept: social networking options to encourage our sense of community, a robust and content-heavy blog intended to be used as an educational tool for kids and adults and an efficient storefront with O'BON Causes built in to allow our customers to make the world a better place through supporting us.
Today, O'BON can be found in approximately 500 stores nationwide with many more on the horizon. Our aim is to become the nation's leader in environmentally-friendly school and office products and a major force to be reckoned with in the movement towards a healthier and smarter planet. As our popularity continues to grow we are gradually moving towards our ambition. We also hope to become a beacon of inspiration for kids everywhere today. With a strong work ethic, a passion for what you believe in and a few lucky breaks, even a group of inexperienced kids like us can build an amazing company that is contributing to a better society.
