School Visit: Chabot Elementary, Oakland

File 1709

The only thing scarier than oil spills, rapid deforestation and global warming is trying to capture the attention of a classroom of first graders.  Fortunately, we had absolutely no problems on our recent visit to Chabot Elementary School in Oakland, California.   O'BON USA's very own CEO, Kerry Davis, along with his good friend, Neha Kurani, dropped by the school to give a group of 6 and 7 year olds a simple introduction to our company and what we do.  As is customary with our school program we then conducted a pencil swap with the kids, taking their old, outdated and often broken wood pencils and replacing them with brand new recycled newspaper O'BON pencils. The kids absolutely loved the wildlife designs and were full of observations as well as demands. Cornered by their excitement and frightened by their intelligent answers to our questions, we were forced to hand out color pencils and journals as prizes too.  To find out more about our school program, click here.
